Valencia, what a beautiful city! This is one of the destinations where I spend a little more time than 24 hours, but it is still manageable to visit this city in 24 hours or at least the highlights! One of the best ways to explore Valencia is to rent a bike, so I did. I started my bike tour at Turia Parc where I crossed the Riverbed. The parc is lovely on summer days, you could spend the day walking around or having a picknick, it is very lively. After, I biked to the Serranos towers, they are considered to be the largest Gothic city gateway of Europe. Next I went to Plaza de la Virgen which is located in the historic district, this square is bounded by three highlights of Valencia which are the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Basilica de la Virgen de Los Desamparados and the Palace of the Generalitat. In the middle of the square there is a nice fountain, depicting Neptunes surrounded by eight naked women. This should represent Valencia’s Turia River and its eight irrigation ditches.  All of them are beautiful to visit! Besides all the historic monuments, Plaza de la Virgen is a perfect spot to have some food or drinks! From here I biked to Ciudad de las artes y las ciencias, an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex and one of the most popular attraction of Valencia. That was my last stop by bike and from here I went back where I started; Turia Parc. I gave back the bike and started my journey by metro and foot. I visited the Central Station and the Bullring which are located next to each other, furthermore I went to Mercado Central, this is a market with a surface area of over 8000 square meters. I advise you  to go there in the morning as it will close afterwards, the atmosphere, colors and smells are amazing! I ended my trip with some hours at the beach,  walking on the boarderwalk and spending some time at the port of Valencia.
