Sydney, love every second!
As I arrived in the early morning at the hotel, which was Holiday Inn located at Kings Cross, I dropped my luggage and went out straight away. The weather was perfect, sunny but not too hot. A friend who lives in Wollongong came to Sydney to hang out and show me the city. We started walking from my hotel to Woolloomooloo Bay and Finger Wharf which today is a fashionable complex housing a hotel, restaurants and apartments.
From here we went on to the Royal Botanical Garden which is so pretty! Very relaxing and beautiful to walk through and have a picnic. At this point you have a beautiful view on the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge which was our next stop. We had a drink at Bennelong Restaurant and Bar, located next to the Opera House, overlooking the Harbour Bridge, definitely something to recommend!
After this refreshment we went on and walked to The Rocks Market which is an open-air market where you can find fashion, handcrafted jewelry, textiles, art, beauty products and much more. After strolling around for some time, we needed another drink and some food, we decided to go to a rooftop bar, such a perfect spot it was! The bar we went to is called Glenmore rooftop which has a breathtaking view on the Opera house and the food and atmosphere is really good.
Once we absorbed the beautiful views we moved on to Circular Quay where we took the ferry to Manly Beach. To pay this trip I purchased a OPAL card, this is a public transport card and can also be used for this ferry which is very convenient. The ferry takes about 30 minutes to reach Manly beach. Once we got out we walked through The Corso which is full of shops and bars, it reminded me of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, somewhat smaller but a really cool atmosphere as well. Passing all the shops we chilled a while at the beach and moved on walking to Shelly Beach, popular for its underwater world, therefore it was full of snorkelers and divers.
Next we passed through Sydney Harbour National Park which was a beautiful walk and went back to the main Wharf where we came from. Opposite Manly Wharf, there is a very nice brewery called 4 Pines Brewing Company where we had 5 small type of beers we could taste, all of them were very tasty!
When the sun went down, we decided to take the ferry back to Circular Quay and go back to the hotel to change. As my friend was staying in another hotel with his girlfriend, we went there first. Their hotel was located near Chinatown so we walked from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour and reached their hotel. After a quick shower we went on to my hotel, we took the train which nearly took us 10 minutes. Once we arrived at my hotel I took a quick shower and after that we went on for dinner.
Kings Cross is full of restaurants and bars, we ended up having dinner at Pizza Boccone where we obviously had pizza. To end the evening, we went out at Kings Cross Hotel, located next to my hotel. This hotel has 6 floors, they have a relaxed pub, outdoor bar, theatre, pumping club and rooftop bar, where we enjoyed our night!
As Sydney is promoted; I truly loved every second of my stay and definitely one of my favorite destination! I’ll go back for sure!
